Inspirational Interview: Stacey Sullaphen – Writer and Wellbeing consultant

Stacey (10)

Stacey Sullaphen is a radiating bundle of light. I first crossed paths with Stacey at a business chicks wellness weekend at Gwinganna. The long weekend for me was an amazing chance to slow down and connect with like-minded women. When I met Stacey I was so inspired by her path to wellness and how strong and determined she is. I have read Stacey’s lifestyle guide and it helped kickstart me on my wellness journey. I am so excited to share this interview with you all.

Tell me a bit about who you are, and what you are passionate about?

I’m a woman first and foremost and like most women, I have many roles. Wife, Mother, Wellbeing Consultant and Writer. I am passionate about health, nurturing my family and living a natural lifestyle. I eat a plant based diet, do not own a toaster, microwave or clothes dryer and I ALWAYS return trolleys 🙂

After meeting you I was so inspired by your passion and energy towards life. You are an inspiration to many with your blog, healthy lifestyle and recipe guide’s. Can you tell us a bit about how you ended up living on this path?

I spent 35 years living in chaos before I came to live the calm, simple life I live today and I owe it all to my healer and teacher, Magister of Traditional Medicine; Daire Russell.

Before meeting him, my life was a mess. I was copywriting for a local cafe and in the midst of going to court with my husband. At the time I was separated from him and an emotional wreck. I had seen many Drs who had prescribed me with various medications which I had resisted taking until I felt I had no other choice. The medications gave me the illusion of focus but I was still a mess.

I was in tears to the owner of the cafe who suggested I see the ‘medicine man’ and highly recommended him (many of her staff had seen him with great results). I had never heard of him. I had been to GP’s, specialists, dieticians, naturopaths and nothing worked.

I knew the minute I lay on his table that he was going to heal me. His energy and everything he said made sense. He spoke to me very seriously about the impact my diet was having on my life. After one treatment I felt better and my path to pure living began. There really aren’t words available to adequately describe the gratitude I feel towards him for healing me & introducing me to the woman I am today.

It is an honour to have transformed from patient to student and now be working with him changing many lives.

Without a doubt my diet provides me with the vibrant energy I have and passion exists because I want other people to FEEL how good a natural lifestyle and understand how simple it is to achieve.

Tell me the best thing about working for yourself and helping people take control of their health and wellbeing?

Effort and flexibility together with the harvest I reap from what I sow!

Energetically and financially I am rewarded for changing the lives of others, simply by living my own. I am very committed to all aspects of my work because it is my life. They are one in the same.

I can literally only change the lives of others by living the lifestyle that I do.

My foundation and experience becomes theirs until they develop it for themselves and once they do, there is no greater reward than seeing people change their diet and transform their lives as a direct result of what they put on their plate and into their mouths. It is an honour for me to walk beside them.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced in running your own business?

Admin tasks! Being a solopreneur means I do everything from consulting with clients to writing articles, guides and posts and all the other usual business stuff such as post office runs and banking. I love every aspect of it, however nurturing a young family also means there is limited time left for things like filing tax receipts to make tax time easier!

If you could give your 18-year-old self some advice today what would it be?

Ahhh so many things;

  • Lay off the sugar and maybe you’ll get to keep your gallbladder and a full set of teeth!
  • You can be alone and not lonely so ditch that no good boyfriend of yours!
  • No miracle face potion exits to clear up that acne…you need to quit sugar, dairy and wheat!
  • Almost everything you fear is never going to happen so RELAX!

Having said all of the above, I also know that if I were not the 18 year old sugar addicted self I was holding onto the bad boyfriend, I would not be the woman I am today and I wouldn’t have met my amazing husband so I am grateful for the path and the experience that has led me to now.

Tell me the best piece of financial advice you have ever been given?

If you can’t afford to pay cash, you can’t afford it! And even then, do you really NEED it or is it a want?

Who inspires you?

My healer and teacher, Magister of Traditional Medicine Daire Russell. Without him, I would not live the life I do today. The many people who have embraced this lifestyle also inspire me and the simple living duo; The Minimalists!

What are your daily must have’s?

Lemon Myrtle Tea, Plants and 8 hrs sleep!

So much light and love from this interview. It is so important to be grateful for the lessons from our past. If you would like some more inspiration from Stacey then check out her website below:
